For one, the French did a nice job defending. Two, French GK Fabian Barthez did a nice job saving Brazilian shots on goal. Three, that's just the way it goes in World Soccer. It's not that surprising. The French side have players who were part of the '98 team that won it all at Brazil's demise (Zidane, Henry, Barthez, etc.).

hey Malice calm down..
You were beated.. should be used to Portugal by now.. this makes what? 3rd time in 6 years? =)
Anyway.. What rooney did was for a red card.. there is no excuse to kick that guys nuts, and if u have doubts about that deserving a red card.. go and check Fifa Rules of The Game.. look under agression..
Portugal didn't deserve to win maybe.. but neither did England.. till the moment rooney got expulsed, the game was boring as hell.. low on oportunities.. England played better with 10 than with 11.. most of the time 9 defending and crouch attacking.. that's one of the reasons we could not score.. And Ricardo beated England on pk's once again :P you must hate him..
Now I'm worried about france.. they have restarted to think and remembered how to play.. dunno if we gonna beat them wednesday.. we are still missing a proper striker..
/sarcasm Or we could do it like holland tried to do.. start the game trying to take out zizou.. I think if we hit him hard a couple of times he might get injured.. pitty Petit can't play.. he would be good for that /end sarcasm
Go PORTUGAL

TUESDAY SEMIFINAL MATCH PREDICTION
GERMANY V. ITALY in Dortmund
This can go either way. Both squads are playing brilliantly, although Germany had to squeeze by Argentina on PK's and Italy handily defeated Ukraine. The German side will have their usual home pitch and crowd advantage, although there will be plenty of Italian fans there as well. However, this can come down to which side is better prepared and who has the better set of tactics. Expect Klose to be well marked by the Italian side, and Italy has a good set of attackers to go after the German defense.
PROBABLES
Attack Edge - Italy
Defense Edge - Germany
Depth Edge - Italy
Crowd Edge - Germany
Coaching Edge - Even
Tactical Edge - Even
My Prediction: Germany beats Italy in a Penalty Shootout.

I see Germany beating Italy as well but i really want Italy to win. I Can see Italy winning though, if they strike first i dont think the Germans will recover against that. The Italian defense is just playing too well.

That was Zinedine Zidane, and he's an amazingly skillful player. It might look easy to disposses him, but try keeping up with someone with footwork like that.
Anyway you really have to fancy the Germans at this stage, they're growing stronger with every game, and of course have the massive advantage of a home crowd. Ah well, if Klose stays top scorer it's 150 in pocket..

Nothing wrong with that match. Well officiated by the Mexican referee, and two well-placed finishes by Grosso and Del Piero to stamp their ticket to Berlin for Sunday's final. Clearly, they were superior in extra time, and they had to because they're 0 for 3 in the PSO.
Excellent match. It could've been 4-0 Italy.

Oh dear..
Ah well, it was a great game. I couldn't believe how open it was considering they're both generally defensive teams, and I thought Del Piero's goal at the end was just fantastic-great for anyone who hated the dirty germans(I don't, I actually like them).
And I'm sorry Yamyam, but I was shouting for Portsmouth to stay up last year..
